Charles McDaniel Obituary

Charles H. McDaniel II

Powell, TN

Charles H. McDaniel II, age 71, passed away on March 15, 2018 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center due to complications of multiple myeloma. Per his request his body is being cremated. He was a Christian and member of Mount Hermon United Methodist Church. He loved southern gospel music with all his heart. He began doing farm work when he was just a young boy. He still enjoyed doing farm work in his spare time and also fishing with friends. He was an electrician by trade and had worked at K-25, Y-12 and X-10 plants in Oak Ridge, TN. He was also a member of IBEW Locals 270 and 760. He made many friends during his working career. He was a veteran and very proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and then the reserves. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles H. McDaniel and Elizabeth Nye McDaniel. He is survived by his wife Sandra; son Jason McDaniel and wife Jennifer; stepson Jeffrey Foster; stepdaughter Melanie Stanley and husband Joe; brother Sidney McDaniel and wife Joanna; sister Diane Blair and husband Mike; two grandchildren MaKenna and Landon McDaniel; sisters-in-law Bobbie Duncan and Emily Duncan; many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends, including Don Horne. He had many special friends, too numerous to list. He enjoyed talking to people and never met a stranger. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care that was given to him from Thompson Oncology, Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, East Tennessee Nephrology, P.C. and Concord Medical Group and their doctors, nurses and all supporting staff. The family will receive friends 1:00pm-3:00pm, Saturday March 24, 2018, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 3:00pm. Graveside service to inter the ashes will be at 4:30pm, at Mount Hermon Methodist Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Gregg Bostick. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com

Charlie Mac will be missed by many. I worked with him for 20 years at Y-12 and he always had a smile when you saw him. I will miss seeing him at auctions around town. Fly high with the angels my friend.
