ELIZABETH WINSHIP ARDISON SCOTT

SCOTT, ELIZABETH WINSHIP ARDISON - a precious lady, passed away on January 2, 2015, at the age of 103. She was a dignified, selfless, loving, and devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bettie was raised on a dairy farm in upstate New York and the first car she ever drove was a Model T! A graduate of Syracuse University, she majored in mathematics and minored in physics and she was a member of the charter chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. After marrying her first husband, Robert J. Ardison, she became a dedicated, full time mother, and an avid homemaker who loved reading, listening to music, and gardening. Some time after Robert's death, Bettie began a new life with her second husband, Robert N. Scott (Scottie), with whom she travelled the world, until his death in 1981. She was the matriarch of a large, extended and blended family. Bettie was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Ardison; and her second husband, Robert N. Scott; brother, Robert W. Winship; step daughter, Susie Scott Kennedy and step son-in-law, Brian F. Kennedy. She is survived by her three sons, Robert J. Ardison, III, Gary W. Ardison (Linda), and Samuel W. Ardison (Carole) with whom she resided since 2003. She is also survived by her step son, and many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. There will be a celebration of Bettie's life at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Farragut on Saturday, January 10, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bettie's memory to St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, 110 Sugarwood Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee 37934.
