Eunice Smalling Howell

HOWELL, EUNICE SMALLING - age 88 of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Green Hills Nursing Home in Nashville. Eunice was really loved by her care-givers and received lots of TLC. She was retired from Scovill Corporation (previously known as Yale Lock Manufacturing) where she was a Cost Accountant. Eunice was a member of Kingston Pike Baptist Church. She was a past President of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 188 and past President of the local chapter of the American Business Women's Association. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, W. O. Smalling (deceased 1977), her late husband, Delmar Howell (deceased 2011); her daughter, Varena Julian; step daughter, Jackie Petty and her brothers, Walker and Maurice Runyon. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Judy Smalling of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren and their spouses: Michael and Michelle Smalling of Brentwood, Christi and Brad Ford of Nashville, Melissa and T. J. Mahan of Knoxville, Alicia and Robert Loudermilk of Brentwood, Rebeca and Jared Monger of Franklin, Butch Julian and Michelle Warren of Powder Springs, GA; 15 great grandchildren; step son, David Howell and wife, Charlotte of Lenoir City; sisters-in-law, Burness (Charles) Hamilton of Knoxville, Burnell McNabb of Etowah, Sarah "Cotton" Runyon of Loudon and Roberta Runyon; step son-in-law, Bill Petty of Loudon; and several nieces and nephews. Although she will be sorely missed, her family is comforted in knowing that she is resting in peace with the Lord. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1st at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating.
