Maxine Shumacker Obituary

AUBURN — Maxine Shumacker, 86, of Auburn died Friday, February 14, 2014, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.
She was born April 13, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio, to Hugh and Gayetta (Myers) Allen.
Maxine was a homemaker.
Before coming to Auburn She lived in the Barrington, Ill., area where she was active with the Meals on Wheels program, the Presbyterian Church and she volunteered at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
She married Richard Shumacker in September 1948 in Toledo and he survives in Canadian Lake, Mich.
Also surviving are three daughters, Gamie (Geoff) Preston of Auburn, Ann (Scott) Schilling of Dyer, Ind., and Pam (Phil) Whittenhall of Genoa, Ill.; a brother Donald (Dean) Allen of Toledo, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Breymaier.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are to St. Martin's Health Clinic.
