RICHARD RAYMOND MORRISON

Today, we gather to honor and remember Richard Morrison. Rich was born to Madeline and Raymond Morrison on November 14, 1945, and passed away in Spokane Valley on March 29 at 80 years old. He will be laid to rest next to his parents at the Farmington, WA cemetery with a graveside service on April 16, 2026 at 2 pm, and followed by a Celebration of Life at C&D's Event Center.

Rich had many passions in his lifetime. Besides farming and talking, he loved his motorcycles, snowmobiles, photography, and NASCAR. He loved helping Kelly and Kim Rambo with motorcycle racing and even had a few motorcycle races on his mountain. He traveled to the Brickyard 400 and loved collecting model racecars, which he proudly displayed in his home.

He graduated from Plummer High School, after spending his elementary years in Potlatch. While at Plummer High School, he was chosen to attend Boy's State in Boise, which started his interest in the politics of everything. He then graduated from the University of Idaho with degrees in Agri-Management and Communications. He worked at Everett Will Tractor Co. and Widman's Sport Center, while attending the U of I. After graduation he returned to the third-generation family farm to manage Morrfarms, Inc.

Rich was involved with many organizations. They included the Moscow Snowmobile Club, where he helped with the snow groomer. He was an officer of the local Benewah County Wheat Growers, on the Board of the Benewah County Soil Conservation, a Fire Commissioner with the Tensed Fire District, and served on the Idaho Pea and Lentil Association. Idaho's legislature initiated a "Leadership for Idaho" class, and Rich was chosen to be in the first class.

Rich was a snowmobile mechanic for Dorsey Chevrolet after they took on the Arctic Cat dealership, which led him to be a mechanic for all his friends and neighbors too. He also spent time selling a farm accounting program for Digital out of Spokane. He loved gathering with his friends at the local coffee house.

Rich was a great friend and leader to many. He left the following note: "Thanks to all my friends for a wonderful life on earth, and I hope to see you in heaven. Life is way too short – use freely. Richard Morrison"
