Robert Raymond Gehrking
HOLMEN - Robert Gehrking, 87, passed away on March 12, 2024, at Caretta Senior Living. Bob was born in Bangor Wi on October 8, 1936, to Blanche and George Gehrking.
He graduated from Bangor High School in 1955 and married Delores (Dolly) Fitzl in 1961. They moved to Lacrosse where they owned the Magic Coin Laundry for many years. Bob was also a truck driver for Pennzoil and Bob Johnson Lubricants until his retirement. After his retirement Bob and Dolly operated their own cleaning business. Bob was a talker and loved to converse with anybody and everybody about his life stories.
Bob is survived by his three children: William (Mary Jo) Gehrking; Glenn (Karen) Gehrking; Julie Steers; eight grandchildren: Seth (Leia), Katelyn (Michael) Coleman, Justin (Melissa) Gehrking, Tyler (Leah) Gehrking, Joshua (Shantelle) Gehrking, Jordan Gehrking, and Krystal and Nathaniel Steers; and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by former daughter in law Maria (Randy) Johnson, former son in law Pat Steers, and lifelong friend David Burbach. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife Dolly in February of 2018. Bob was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Funeral will be at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral home in Bangor on Tuesday, March 19th.
