R.L. Buckner Obituary

R.L. 'Buck' Buckner, 92, of Newcomb, died Dec. 17 at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1921, in Newcomb.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Buckner; son, Tommy Buckner; daughter, Bobbie Sue Buckner; parents, William and Molly Davis Buckner.
He is survived by his daughters, Diane Buckner, Faye Loudin and husband, Jerry, all of Newcomb; grandchildren, Tammy Buckner, Sunshine Smith and husband, Brandon, Jeremy Buckner and wife, Marcie and Casey Douglas; great-granddaughter, Lakin Smith; daughter-in-law, Nancy Douglas and husband, Rick, of Newcomb; sister, Ima Christina Lay of Jellico; special niece, Pat Buckner; special nephews, Bobby Buckner and Freddie Buckner; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were Dec. 20 with the Rev. Jerry Yancey, the Rev. Steve Morgan and the Rev. Durand Dixon officiating.
Interment was at Hicks Cemetery with military honors, provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
Harp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
