Eric coached me way back when I was first starting to play baseball, and I'll never forget the expieriences I had with him as my coach. I can remember, and have heard over and over, about getting that unassisted triple play and how happy I was, and how proud he was of me. I am a better person thanks to him. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Eric was one of the kinded people I got to know upon arriving in P.B. Eric patiently taught me to waterski, and the basics of surfing. I recall some great sunsets laughing in his boat, or sitting on a board out beyond where the waves crashed. Eric was an expert in keeping the simple joys of life a priority, and opening others eyes to the same. My condolences to his entire family.

Eric was my bookkeeper for more than 20 years. I had the opportunity to be at his celebration on the ball field and experienced the wonderful presentation of his accomplishments and “Who he was”. He and I had many lunches together in the process of geting my books done. It was good to see the other side of his life, even though we talked about the many things he was involved in. As with his fmily, college buddies, and friends who he touched, I will also miss him.
Sincerely

Eric coached my son in second grade. Although my son wasn't gifted at baseball, Eric made my son feel like a part of the team. Eric encouraged him gently and saw the good qualities in him. A gentle man, a good man. The world is definately at a loss but I was glad to have known him.

Eric always made you feel special. He never let you feel left out. He would remember and call you by your first name and recall something about you that he would ask about. Sending big hugs to Susan and the boys. He will live forever in you.

Eric was a wonderful man that we have been next door neighbors with ever since he and his family moved in. Ever since we met, he had been extremely friendly and we could of never asked for a better neighbor. He was always smiling and willing to have a conversation. We will always remember his positive outlook and smile. He will be missed by our entire family.

I have great memories of Eric from our houseboat trips and water skiing on the Colorado River, playing volleyball in PB and climbing Mt. Whitney.
Thanks for having been in my life Eric - you made this world a little better place because you were here.

We met Eric and Susan through our neighbors, Chris and Carol Leonard. We spent many Mother's Days at the beach down in San Diego with them. We also got to know Eric and Susan by being at family gatherings for holidays and special occasions held at Chris and Carol's home in Monrovia. Eric was always friendly, easy to talk to, and a pleasure to know. He cared about others and would often complement areas of talent he noticed in the neighborhood kids. We will miss him. Our deepest condolences go out to the entire Leonard family, Eric's wife Susan and their two sons.

I MET ERIC SOME YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS TAKING CARE OF MY UNCLES AFFAIRS SINCE HE WAS IN A NURSING HOME AND HE AND ERIC HAD FOUND A FRIENDSHIP THRU DEVANYS BAKERY IN PB AND THE CORNER COFFEE HOUSE. ERIC WAS AN AMAZING HELP TO ME AND WAS SO KIND AT ONE POINT TO JUST GO VISIT ART. WE WORKED TOGETHER A LOT ON ART'S AFFAIRS AND I SO APPRECIATED ALL OF ERIC'S HELP AND SUPPORT SINCE I WAS REALLY AT A LOSS ON HANDLING ALL HIS FINANCES. ERIC ALSO BECAME OUR ACCOUNTANT THRU THIS AND HENRY AND I BECAME SO FOND OF ERIC AND HIS HELP. WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF HIS LOSS AND WILL MOURN SUCH A GOOD MAN. HE IS SUCH A LOSS TO HIS COMMUNITY AND HIS FAMILY. MAY YOU HAVE COMFORT IN ALL YOUR WONDERFUL MEMORIES.

We were shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Eric's passing. He was taken too soon--so young and full of life! We are so sorry for your loss. We knew Eric for over 25 years, as his clients and friends. We have so many happy memories of our times together. He will be sorely missed.

I had the privilege of working next door to Eric's office in Pacific Beach. We used to talk almost every weekday morning and soon became friends. Eric was a friendly and good-natured guy with a wry sense of humor. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Colleen and Vance Hilderman greatly mourn the loss of our friend, inspiration, and hiking buddy. We were contemplationg a trip to Kiliminjaro where Eric could fulfill a lifelong dream of being at high altitude - we trust he's at an even higher altitude now. Eric, you're with us. Always.

Carmel Valley lost the finest example of human decency, generosity, and acceptance of others with the passing of Eric Leonard. Words cannot express how deeply saddened we are for your loss. As we too are trying to come to terms with his passing, please find solace in remembering all of the wonderful memories of precious time spent with him.
