Eileen Rhodes Obituary

Eileen was born in Waukegan and took advantage of the "Jack Benny Exemption of 39 and Holding".

She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grade School and Holy Child High School under a scholarship from Com. Francis McFadden, Navy Chaplain.

She was employed at Abbott Laboratories North Chicago and Abbott Int'l and Abbott Export in Chicago. Later she worked for the Greater Chicago #3 Lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Eileen also attended and graduated from Citizens Sheriff Academy, Citizens Police Academy, Citizens County Academy. She also did volunteer work for the Public Defenders Office and the Department of Corrections.

She wrote hundreds of poems, was an avid reader and loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Etolen, her parents Lucy and Clarence Dresen and her husband John "Dusty" Rhodes.

Survivors are Linda Brown of Waukegan, Ronald (Kim) Rhodes of Winthrop Harbor; step-sons Robert (Cathy) Rhodes Hawaii and Richard (Sandy) Rhodes of Winthrop Harbor; Grandsons, Tom (Sheila) Brown, Terry Brown, Doug and Dan Rhodes; David (Jodie) Rhodes, Scott Rhodes, Granddaughters Shelley and Molly Rhodes and great grandson Sebastian Rhodes.

A Memorial Service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, West and Grand, Waukegan, IL on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
