Laquisha Charne Harper

1991 - 2023

Laquisha Charne Harper was born on July 14, 1991, in Gainesville, Florida to Bennie Harper and Dawn Burch. Laquisha resided in Lake City, Florida for most of her life. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the New Dayspring Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized under the late Reverend George Francis. She became a youth leader, sang in the youth choir, and later joined the adult choir. Laquisha received her education in the Columbia County School System graduating in 2009, while attending Columbia High School she was a member of the track and field team, and the Tigerette dance team. She continued her education at FAMU in Tallahassee, Florida where she studied nursing, joined the step team, and became a McGuinn Diamond Hall Stepper. She was employed at the Taco Bell in Lake City, Florida as a crew member and shift leader. In 2015 Laquisha began a new career studying criminal justice and became a correctional officer at UCI in Raiford, Florida as a sergeant for six years. In 2021 she continued her career in the medical field as a medical assistant and med tech, she received her CNA license in 2022 and worked at Baya Pointe and Bedrock facilities in Lake City, Florida. Laquisha was very dedicated and loved working with her residents. In her spare time, Laquisha loved to sing, take trips, dance, and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley Ann Howard (James), Jessie Lee Burch (Johnnie), and Jo Stewart. Left to cherish her precious and loving memories: parents, Bennie D. Harper, and Dawn Burch; siblings, Latifia Hall (Robert), and Bennie Harper (Autumn); nieces, Assyria Pierce, and Alina Harper all of Lake City, Florida; special god brother, Devyn Clark. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The viewing will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5-7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at New Dayspring Church Missionary Baptist Church, Lake City, Florida.
