William Broshar Obituary

William G. (Bill) Broshar passed away on January 31, 2023. Born in Centerville, Iowa on March 26,1932, he was the 2nd of 3 children born to Chester and Bertha Broshar.
He met and married his wife of 68 years, Louise Broshar, when he was stationed at Fort McClellan Army Base (Anniston, Alabama) during the Korean War. After Bill left the Army, the couple moved to Iowa where they resided for 11 years and had their 3 children. In 1966 they settled in Lake City, Florida after Bill became a Field Representative for the Social Security Administration. He held this position until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, the couple enjoyed time spent at their favorite beach (Fernandina), river (Santa Fe) and traveling the country.
He was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a member of the Lake City BPOE.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise and brother Jack.
He is survived by his children, son Michael and daughters Patti and Lisa. He is also survived by his sister Janet Rushton and his three grandchildren, Amber, Jason, Tori and seven great grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements by GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.

I was 7 years old when Bill married my sister, Lou. He has always been my much loved brother and will be forever missed.He was a very loving caretaker to Lou during her illness and the family appreciatated his love and care so very much.

Bill was so warm, welcoming, and encouraging to our choir members. I appreciated his wonderful voice and hearty laugh. He was such a good sport to try many styles of choir music and his faithfulness and dependability were foundational for our choir. He is greatly loved and missed!
