GRAYSLAKE – Viola V. Plotz, a 78-year-old, life-long resident of Grayslake, died Oct. 30.
She was born in Grayslake to the now late Marcus and Katherine Behm (nee Lenzen) on Oct. 13, 1931.
Viola worked at Navy Publications and Printing. She was an avid player and scorekeeper of her bridge club for more than 50 years.
She was the beloved mother of Lisa (Peter) Androus and Nancy (Joel) Reed; loving grandmother of James Androus, age 19, John Androus, age 18, Indiana Reed, age 14, and Chase Reed, age 12; and dear sister of Rose Schulz, Ralph Behm, and Virginia Vasey.
Viola's husband, Ernie Plotz; and siblings, Francis Paddock, Jim Behm, Helen Hall, Florence Miller, Ray Behm, and Mary McRae preceded her in death.
Friends of the family may join them for memorial visitation from 4 to 8 p.m Thursday, Nov. 5, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, in Grayslake.
The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, also at Strang Funeral Chapel. Inturnment will be private.
Memorial contributions to the Avon Township Food Pantry, 433 E. Washington St., Round Lake Park, would be appreciated.
