David Morris Obituary

David E. Morris

LANCASTER: David E. Morris, age 80 of Lancaster, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Fairfield Medical Center.

He was born September 15, 1934 in Morgan County, Ohio to the late Ivan and Mary (Blackburn) Morris. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Faith Memorial Church. Dave owned and operated Morris Gravel, and was the former co-owner of Green Slopes Landfill in Somerset. He was a member of AMVETS Post #1985 in Lancaster and a former member of the Amanda Lions Club.

Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Ankrom) Morris; children, Dennis (Lisa) Morris of Amanda, Brenda Morris of Westerville, Greg Morris and Dayna (Craig) Hartman of Worthington; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers, Neil (Toni) Morris of Westerville and Ralph (Mary) Morris of Sugar Grove.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, David Chakeres.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Rev. Melvin Truex officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-7 P.M. and one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family request memorial contributions to Faith Memorial Church, 2610 W. Fair Ave, Lancasterer, OH 43130 in Dave's memory.
