Bernice Fields

Fields , Bernice (Copeland) January 24, 1909 - July 25, 2012 Wife of the late orchestra leader Ernie Fields, mother of Carmen Fields (Lorenz Finison) of Needham, MA. Ernie Fields Jr (Galia Dumas), of Los Angeles and step-mother to Charles L Fields (Ingrid), also of Los Angeles. A graduate of Tuskegee Institute, Langston University and Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley, Fields taught in rural and city schools in and around Tulsa, OK., retiring in 1973. She was known for her even temperament, kindness, and culinary skills. She is also survived by two sisters, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and countless former students she nurtured. Funeral services in Tulsa, Tuesday, August 1 at First Baptist Church North Tulsa.
