I simply can't think of a more " GENUINE" and "WELL INTENTIONED " human being other than dear ole Chris Cox who recently passed away last week. I first met Chris Cox in 1982 at the Odyssey Dance Club on Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles California. My close friend ( LB ) Lawrence Benjamin was murdered by one of the young men he picked up one night from the Odyssey Dance Club and it was Chris Cox with his amazing ability and incredible personality along with his gift of communicating with others that helped me get through that tragic ordeal as ( LB ) was like family to me. Chris was the type of person who made time for people and you could tell that he really cared and loved people. His heart was bigger than the State of Texas and the GRAND CANYON put together. Chris was the kind of person who didn't have any alterior motives nor did he ever expect anything in return after he helped you out. There definitely won't ever be another individual like Chris Cox as GOD ALMIGHTY broke the mold when he created DEAR CHRIS COX. If you ever took the time to look deep into Chris'S eyes then you would seen the windows to his soul which was indeed very pure. He always left you feeling ok and he also made you realize that everything would get better with time just as long as you were honest with yourself. He told me once many years ago to always treat others with respect and to also always tell the truth. Chris was a man way before his time. GOD loaned him out to all of us and decided to take him back. I am sure if there is a Dance Club in Heaven I am sure that GOD has somehow worked out a partnership with Chris Cox as he really knew how to treat people and he knew what they needed at just the right moment. I WILL NEVER FORGET CHRIS AS HE WILL ALWAYS OCCUPY A SPACE INSIDE OF MY HEART. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND (CHRIS COX ).WILLIAM YAKEL FORT LAUDERDALE FL.

Chris gave so much to so many he never even knew... the Odyssey was a place for so many for safety and acceptance, and for so many like me, a home away from home. Chris, you helped shape me into the person I am today, and for that I am truly thankful. R.I.P. and my heart goes to all who knew and loved him so...

February 14, 2016

My deepest condolences to Chris's close family, survivors, and the friends who became a second family to him! He truly did open his heart and assist so many others find their way in life, from all the way back in the days of ODYSSEY,where I first met him and his brother. Although I lost touch after the Odyssey days or I should say years, I was able to catch up a little with him, (and Nick and Chuckie), a few years ago at the Odyssey reunion. He was truly ONE OF A KIND...he had to be to create the LEGENDARY CLUB ODYSSEY, which was such a safe and rewarding environment for us all in our youth. The true Odyssey regulars will agree that the impact of his club was an amazing, magical, unique experience burned into our minds forever.
Thank you
R.I.P. CHRIS COX

It was personal tragedy that brought us together, but admiration and respect that cemented the bond I felt with you. Words alone cannot express the gratitude I have for everything you did for me and on my behalf. You were a friend from the start and you never let me or my family down. This world was a better place because of you, Chris and your presence will be sadly missed. You were a good and decent man. Much love to you and your family through what has been a very difficult time. May you now rest in peace. Wherever you are now I am sure you will be running things in no time!!! God Bless!!!

Chris was a truly unique & special person who had a way of winning people over by virtue of his humble down to earth persona and hilarious sense of humor while at the same time instiling confidence in others in his ability to take charge of a situation and turn a liability into an asset for example was just one of his many talents he was known for as well as being an honest and generous friend to many .much love and respect dear friend

Chris was there for so many of us, always kind, generous and warm.

Funniest man I have ever met. I have laughed some of my hardest laughs and shared some of my innermost fears with Chris.

He was always crisp, impeccably dressed, and elegant in his own crazy way.

I will always miss you, my dear friend. I still can't believe you have left us. On to a better place...
