Christopher Anderson Obituary

March 17, 1966 - November 22, 2019 Surfer Dad, grandad, son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin, husband, and friend, Chris Anderson rode his last wave to his spiritual home on November 22nd after an almost five-year unsuccessful but valiantly fought battle with clinical anxiety depression. Decent and kind, supportive and nurturing. A loving, witty 21st century man in his many roles. We so miss you, Chris. But our joy and life force are in the memories of you in our hearts: Alena, David, Erick, Adam, Austin, Alex, Anya, Annelise, Mom, Kirkie, Bob, Mina, Jill, Rod, Ellen, Deborah, Cassandra, Rachel, Chris, Zena, Jessica, surfer friends, and associates and friends in your successful professional career in auto marketing. We are thankful and everlastingly grateful for our too-brief time with you. Hang ten, Surfer Dad, champion in surfing competition for the 50s plus! At one with the world always. Celebration of Chris' life in December. Any donations may be made to the Surfrider Foundation in his name.

Chris was my close friend in elementary and junior high school. Played little league and surfed with him during the above mentioned time period.
Kind of diverged away from each other at the beginning of high school but I ALWAYS respected him and his superb surfing abilities. Am saddened to just now learn of his passing 5.5 years years ago, but am stoked to learn that he lived a full life with tons of family and friends.
Also not at all surprised to learn that he was still crushing out in the lineup into his 50's.
Rest in peace and thank you for the wonderful memories we had in our youth!!

I remember a stormy mixed up big peaky day at the jetty.
I just walked down to watch the surf. The only person in the water was Chris and he was treating it like his own play ground.
At that moment I realized he had natural elevated skills. I heard the news of his passing today. May his soul rest in peace.

You will always be #1 in our hearts! Rest in peace my dear friend. You will be missed.

Chris was a year younger than I but part of a close knit group in Pacific Palisades. There were two great surfers at the time. Frank Hooton and Chris.. Chris was better. I have surfed just as long as Chris but he would still paddle circles around me..lol. I don't have many friends but Chris was on the short list. We ran into each other about 20 years ago in Long Beach. He told me that he had 4 kids and I was like..What??He referred to them as the Anderson clan. We would see each other often as both our kids played hockey at YMCA and then Coast to coast. We also surfed at the same places and would sometimes just watch the ocean and ponder. It still is a place of meditation and Chris felt the same way. Recently we would meet at Sea Legs for some music and a beer or two and Chris and I would boast about our kids. He was a proud papa. I last saw chris at Costco and we shared some laughs. Chris and I shared a love of the ocean, shared friends of the past and children that meant the world to us. I will miss him dearly. This is a huge loss to many but to his kids a travesty. Please know that he is looking down on you. Be strong, humble and brave like your dad and carry his legacy forward like the true Andersons you are. Rest in eternal peace Chris. The Macintosh family will always hold you close to our hearts.

Chris was a year younger than I but a better surfer than most. We grew up in the then small community of Pacific Palisades. We ran into each other in Long Beach about 20 years ago. I remember him telling me he had 4 kids and I was like 'What??'. Over the years we have had numerous surfs together as well as a few beers at Sea Legs and other places. I would see him often as we live close and surf many of the same places. Sometimes we would just stand, drink our coffee and look out onto the ocean. I still do this often as it is a great place to ponder life. I will now think of Chris each time I do this. Chris was a reserved man who would always boast about his kids. Our sons played hockey at the same places. 1st YMCA and then Coast to Coast and we would run into each other getting snacks. As a surfer there were two from the palisades that stood out. Frank Hooton and Chris but Chris was better..lol I have been surfing just as long but he still paddled circles around me..He was a humble man and reading Adams tribute brought genuine tears to my eyes. I don't have many friends but Chris was on the short list and I will miss him dearly.I pray that his family can grieve but remember that life is precious and hold onto all of those close to you.
Rest in peace Chris. The MacIntosh family will always have you in our hearts and prayers...
