August 20, 1982 - August 22, 2021 Deva Marie OvermanLeft this world on Sunday August 22, 2021 at 8:48PM in Boca Raton, Florida just two days after her 39th birthday.However, Deva came into this world on Friday August 20, 1982 at 11:04AM in Los Angeles, CA only four days shy of her due date. Mommy and baby did very fine that morning as Deva compelled her quick entrance in a mere five hours. Truth is her father almost had to pullover on the freeway to assist in her welcome to deliver her himself. Deva did everything fast and furiously continuing to embrace life with voracious excitement. That's what her family adored about her beauteous self the most. And she was an absolute beauty. The loss of our daughter is immeasurable. It punctures the heart like a pandemic 1000 times stronger than any COVID-19 outcome could.After graduating from Providence High School in Burbank, CA, in 2001 she then attended Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising graduating cum laude with an Associate of Arts in Merchandise Product Development in 2004.Following graduation, she embraced her passion for fashion and respect for design by working at a variety of high-end boutiques. She eventually worked at Fred Segal where she was influenced strongly to create her own Nakey Baby design line of sexy t's, baby clothes, boyshorts, underwear, scarves, custom hand painted designs along with chic form fitting dolman sleeved mini-dresses and stunning backless floor length evening dresses. Fred Segal carried some of her line for a season. She also continued in retail as an Assistant Manager of Ted Baker and lastly styling & successfully selling to high end clients at Rag & Bone. Deva is survived by her parents, James & Linda (Rader), her brother Michael, his wife Carolyn (Maher), and Deva's two beloved nephews James and Dylan. Services will be delayed until the subsequent year due to COVID 19. Announcements will be generated via social media.A scholarship fund at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) has been set up in her name Deva Marie Overman Scholarship Fund. This is where she was at her best doing what she loved, designing, and creating.
