Edward McDermott Obituary

Edward Raymond McDermott, II (Ed, Eddie) joined his heavenly father Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the too young age of 58, after his battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Valerie LaGrasta-McDermott and father of twins, Shea and Camden, they resided in Santa Clarita.
Born in Hollywood, CA, Ed was the son of Edward Raymond McDermott, Sr and Mary Mascari McDermott, both involved in the Hollywood Film Industry. Raised in the Hollywood Hills, Ed graduated Cal Prep in 1979. Ed formally joined The Tom Anthony Driving Team in 1986, eventually taking the team over from his uncle Tom when he retired. Ed was a stunt and precision driver and received an award in 2012 at the SAG awards for Outstanding Performance by a stunt ensemble in a motion picture for The Dark Night Rises. Ed was the stunt double for many years for Ronald McDonald. Ed enjoyed playing drums, guitar, piano, recording & listening to all genres of music. He was an avid advocate for Shea in his competitive swimming and Camden in baseball through high school. Ed was a sports fanatic and an avid Dodger and Vikings fan. He loved his dogs, entertaining, cooking, gardening, working on his home and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Valerie; sons Shea and Camden (both 21); Mother Mary; Sister; Maureen (Mickey). There will be a private celebration to honor the memory of Ed's Life.

I worked with Ed on McDonald's shoots when he worked as the stunt double for Ronald McDonald. Ed was not only a good actor, but a wonderful, kind, man. He will surely be missed.
