Frank Fraser Obituary

FRASER, Frank
November 16, 1924 - December 31, 2009
Frank Fraser, Jr., age 85, passed away in Santa Monica during the blue moon on Dec. 31, 2009. An automotive marketing executive for 42 years in Detroit working for Chrysler and Chevrolet, Frank was a resident of Santa Monica since 1989. Frank completed the V-12 program at the University of Michigan and received his Navy commission from Cornell, serving as an Ensign on the USS Stevenson (DD645) in the Pacific during World War II. Frank graduated from the University of Michigan in 1947 and began his automotive career at Chrysler, where he stayed for 16 years. He spent the next 26 years with Campbell-Ewald advertising agency where he was Senior Vice President, Chevrolet. Frank was also a trade publication editor and had written extensively about changes in automotive retailing. He always listened for the voices of prospective customers.

Frank's most recent project was helping to build the new edifice for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Santa Monica which opened on 7.26.09.

Frank is survived by his adoring wife Eileen. Beloved father of his children by a prior marriage to Marcia: Stuart, Anne and Gordon (Vicki). Loving grandfather of Brittany, Ian, Aaron, Kevin and Mark. Dear brother of Mary Thompson and Marilyn Fay. Also survived by several nephews and one niece.

Memorial service to be held on January 21 at 11:00 AM at the Little Chapel of the Dawn at the corner of Arizona Avenue and 20th Street in Santa Monica (chapel entrance and parking lot off 20th Street, 310-395-9988)

In lieu of flowers, Frank would appreciate memorials to his church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, 505 Arizona Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
