May 6, 1934 - September 12, 2022 Lois Ziff Brooks passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022 at the age of 88. Lois was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her loving children, Stanley & Pamela were by her side when she passed.

Lois was born to Raymond and Betty Ziff on May 6, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor in Arts and a Masters in Fine Arts. She was a renowned artist with gallery shows around the world. She followed that by teaching Art (Color Theory) at UCLA extension.

Then she became a Facility Manager for Filmways Television, Orion Pictures, National Geographic and Pangolin Productions. While Lois lived many places (Chicago, Israel, Los Angeles), she was a true New Yorker at heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Howatt. John and Lois met fly-fishing in the Adirondacks. She loved fly-fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Known as "Grammy Bear", Lois adored her five grandchildren: Guy, Mai, Eli, Jesse and Simon.

She loved searching for the best chocolate desserts in the world. Lois will be missed by friends and family, but she will forever be remembered for her legendary Matzah Ball Soup.
