Michael GARCIA Obituary
In the off season, Michael was an avid body builder. He entered various competitions at Muscle Beach in Venice. His good looks and tremendous physique landed him a job as a male model. Michael never missed the September 1st opening day of dove hunting season. The trip to Bakersfield was always exciting as his dad and uncle "Buck" Robert romped through the fields in search of their prey. The three were also great fishermen. Whether deep sea fishing or lake fishing, the three were inseparable during this time. "Money Mike" as he was called by his friends loved his cars. His bright blue Shelby Mustang (nicknamed - Zoltran) was his pride and joy. However, he could always be seen driving his big 4X4 Ford F150 truck around town. His friends nicknamed it "Koleman" because it was white and well insulated. Michael will be sorely missed. He is survived by his parents Ruben and Tammy Garcia, sisters Megan Garcia and Amanda Merino. Grandparents: Carlos and Emily Garcia, Ken and Jan Boucek and Nancy Raper. Uncles: Henry Garcia, Robert Garcia, Carlos Garcia Jr., David Garcia, Robert Raper, Robert Puga, Dan Conklin, and Dan Weaver. Aunts: Sherry Puga, Nikki Garcia, Karla Reed, Helen Weaver, and Monica Garcia. Cousins: Nick DeSoto, Brooklyn Puga, Anthony Garcia, Cole and Ryan Reed, Amanda and Steven Puga, Charlie Hernandez, Ty Garcia, Krystal Lovett, Heather Laughlin, Amy and Christopher Garcia, Kristi, Sherry, Becky and Samantha Garcia. Visitation will be on Thursday night January 13, 2011 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM in the Green Hills Chapel. Services will be at Rolling Hills Covenant Church (2222 Palos Verdes Dr. North, Rolling Hills Estates) on Friday - January 14, 2011 at 1:00 PM with burial at Green Hills Memorial Park. We don't know you but we read the news about your son. Our 17 year old son was also born in April and we can not imagine how horrible it must be to lose a child.
