Michael POLITO Obituary

POLITO, Michael Emanuel Jan. 1, 1925-Dec. 26, 2012 Michael Polito was born in Brooklyn, New York. His family relocated to Southern California where he attended local schools, including Loyola High School. He graduated from Cal State L.A. with a Masters Degree in education. Michael spent the majority of his 35 year teaching career at Palisades High School, where he shared his passion for history and geography with his students. He also enjoyed world travel and photography and was proudly associated with the Lewis A. Kingsley Foundation, Crest Advisory Board, Jonathan Club and Athenaeum. Michael is survived by his loving wife Marjorie, sister Ann (Ross) Howard, brother-in-law Bob (Nancy) Sears, sister-in-law Elizabeth Sears, numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and his beloved dog Molly. Memorial services will be held on January 19, 2013, 11:00 AM at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 2060 No. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles 90027. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent's Meals on Wheels, 2222 Ocean View Ave., Los Angeles 90057. Callanan & Woods Scovern (818) 242.0258
