Thomas Franklin Mitchell

1920 - 2016

January 3, 1920 - January 30, 2016 Tom passed away in Sherman Oaks surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born in Earle, Arkansas he was the youngest of 6 siblings. He moved to Los Angeles when he was 6 years old where he later attended Manual Arts High School. During World War II he served on the USS Jason. He went on to become a highly respected plumbing and heating contractor in the San Fernando Valley where he resided in Sherman Oaks with his wife and four children. After retiring at 57 years old, he became an avid golfer and member of Braemar, Lakeside and Lake Arrowhead Country Clubs. His quiet strength, coupled with his inherent sweet and generous spirit touched all those he knew. He was married to Patricia Bailey Patterson for 60 years until she passed in 2012. Together they had four children Tracy LePon, Cameron Mitchell (deceased in 1992), Tom Mitchell (Pam) and Nancy Buenzli (Rob), and grandchildren Danielle, Brianne, Whitney, Sean, great grandchildren Rylen, Gideon, Remy and Norah as well as many other extenuated family and friends. We love you daddy Tommy and know you will have a great homecoming.
