Tom Zinzer Obituary

ZINZER, Tom I was born April 7, 1939 and lived the first five years of my life in our home on Olympic Place near Carthay Circle. We then moved to our home on Addison St. in the Valley. My brother and I attended No. Hollywood High School. In 1957 an amazing thing happened to me. It was the first and only time No. Hollywood High School won the city tournament in baseball. We had many good players on our team. I played left field and batted .560. I felt honored to be named on the All-Valley and All-City teams. I attended UCLA where I received a degree in business administration. I traveled thru the Caribbean for several years before settling in Santa Monica where I earned licenses in property appraisal and real estate brokerage. I was diagnosed with leukemia 1 « years ago and received wonderful, loving care from all the nurses and doctors at St. Johns Hospital and Santa Monica Health Care Center. A special thank you to Dr. David Stein and Dr. Peter Boasberg. They extended my life by over a year. I passed on Thursday afternoon, Mar. 5th, in the company of my friends and brother. I was one month shy of my 70th birthday. I've had a full and wonderful life and I thank God for all that was given to me. Thank you God. Tom Zinzer Memorial services at Methodist Church, 4832 Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood, CA 91601, Thurs., March 19, 4 p.m.
