Lois Bestrom Obituary
Lois spent most of her life raising their 7 children. As the kids got older, she started her career in retail, working in various department stores. She joined Montgomery Ward in 1975 when it opened in Billings and retired when they closed in 1999. She was an excellent homemaker and cook, but she will be most remembered and admired for her excellent needlework and craftwork. She entered countless fairs and bazaars and won many, many Best in Show, Grand Champion, Champion, and Blue ribbons for her efforts. Her talents will continue to be enjoyed by many and will be greatly missed. She was an avid walker entering and winning many events and was also an avid sports fan. She could name players and statistics from many teams some of us have never even heard of. She and Dad spent many hours and road trips watching their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids in their many activities. Having strong Christian values, Lois was very dedicated to her church, The Crossings in Laurel, and spent many years as a volunteer for the St. Johns United family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, husband Leonard, and daughter Lorrie. She is survived by 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren with two on the way, and one great great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel, MT with burial at the Yellowstone Veterans Cemetery at noon.
Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great Great Grandma, your legacy will last forever, and you will be greatly missed. Enjoy dancing in Heaven with Dad!! We love you!!
