James Adock Obituary

LAURINBURG — James "Jimmy" Frederick Adcock, 65, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmy was born July 21, 1952 in Scotland County, son of the late James P. Adcock and Clara P. Adcock. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army for two years. Jimmy worked as a maintenance worker at UCO in Rockingham and retired after many years of service.

He was a member of Multitudes Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, car racing and working in his shop. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will truly be missed.

James was preceded in death by his two sisters, Peggy Lee Adcock Dick and Patsy Darlene Adcock Bridges.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lona Mae Adcock of the home; son, James F. Adcock, Jr. "Jamie" and wife Heather of Laurinburg; daughter, Chrissy Sanford and husband, Christopher of Sanford; two grandchildren, Whitney L. Sanford, Karissa L. Sanford and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Multitudes Church officiated by Rev. Opie Swails. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

The family will have a time of visitation from 1:30 until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at Multitudes Church.

Services are entrusted to Richard Boles Funeral Service.
