Jackie was first class! I am deeply sorry to hear of her passing. I first met Jackie back in the mid 1970's when my Mother, Vivian Roth, was transferred to Clara Barton Elementary School in Long Beach to teach 4th grade. Later in 1975, I was fresh out of Wilson High School and was seeking a teacher's aide position at the school. I was an aide at Clara Barton for 4 years and learned a great deal under Jackie's tutelege. Although, I ended up pursuing another career, Jackie left an imprint on me that I will always hold close to my heart. It is my hope that Jackie knew how much she inspired me, as well as countless others, with her dedication and commitment to education and her unrelenting love for kids! She was "one of a kind" and will be truly missed. My condolences to Steve (known to me as Mr. Dodge) and her family. May your many happy memories help you through this difficult time.
