John Crenshaw Obituary

John Thomas Crenshaw, M.D., 77, of Jefferson, died on Thursday, August 18, 2011.

Dr. Crenshaw was born on September 2, 1933 in Maysville, a son to the late Howard and Annie Morris Crenshaw. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War, a 1964 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, and was a physician in Jefferson, for 38 years, starting his private practice in 1973. Dr. Crenshaw was a member of the Jefferson First United Methodist Church. His brother, Bill Crenshaw preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his wife, Frances Goodyear Crenshaw of Jefferson; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Crenshaw of Athens, and Alisa Crenshaw Hardy of Manning, SC; sisters, Jean Crenshaw of Maysville, and Mary Ann Cantrell of Arkansas; brother, Kenneth Crenshaw of Jefferson; and 2 grandchildren, Joe Thomas Hardy and Lacey M. Hardy.

A private family memorial service will be held on a later date. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the American Diabetes Association 17 Executive Park, Suite 115, Atlanta, GA 30329, or the Jefferson First United Methodist Church, 188 Martin Street, Jefferson, GA 30549.
