Josefina Lozoya Tello Obituary

JOSEFINA "JOSIE" LOZOYA TELLO, 74, of Las Cruces, NM left this life to live eternally with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 20, 2019. "Josie" as she was fondly known to her family and friends was born in Chihuahua, MX to Jose and Esperanza Lozoya on August 30, 1944. She married Antonio G. Tello on October 1977 and worked at New Mexico State University from 1978 and retired in 2005. After retirement, she worked as a caregiver for many wonderful individuals, who she loved dearly. Josie loved cooking to gather her family and friends to talk, laugh, and sing. Those who sat and laughed with her will remember her phrases and jokes. She was a caring and loving soul who wanted to take care of everyone. She always blessed everyone as they departed with "Que Dios te bendiga" or "ten cuidado." Our mother will be missed and her memories cherished.
Josie is survived by her four children, Jesus Lozoya, Nancy Padilla (Carlos), Claudia Medina (Ray), Antonio Tello Jr. (Nancy) all of Las Cruces; eighteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren and another one due in March. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters, Ramon Lozoya, Jose Antonio Lozoya, Jose Louis Lozoya (Carolina), Lorenza Caro (Francisco), Ruben Lozoya, Cecilia Fisher (Ruben) and numerous nieces and nephews. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Tello in 2003; her father, Jose Lozoya in 1993, her mother, Esperanza Lozoya in 2011 and sister, Carolina Valverde in 2005.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 2 PM in Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with Deacon Manny Madrid officiating. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Our mother will remain in our hearts forever and her "consejos" never forgotten.

The family wished to extend their gratitude to Memorial Medical Center, Mesilla Valley Hospice, and Baca's Funeral Chapels.
