Mary Maholtz Obituary
Born October 13, 1929 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Agnes M. (Berkey) Newell.
On February 14, 1958 she married Edward C. Maholtz, who preceded her in death on September 27, 2005.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was predeceased by three brothers, John, David and Harwood Newell; and three sisters, Emilie Igou, Jessie Maholtz and Josephine Bojalad.
Survivors include four children, Valerie (Gerry) Chiesa of Florida, John (Judie) Maholtz of New Bethlehem, Mary (Royd) Blair of Rimersburg and Lori (Tim) Wilson of Bellefonte; six grandchildren, Staci and Jordan Blair, Danielle, Ryan and Eric (Laurel) Maholtz, and John Chiesa; a great-granddaughter, Isabella; and many beloved grand-pets.
Mary was a 1947 graduate and Valedictorian of Huston Township High School.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Arrow Furniture of DuBois for many years and also as a clerk at the Penfield Post Office for 10 years.
Mary was a member of Hickory United Methodist Church and enjoyed taking care of her family.
She also enjoyed reading, cooking, camping, gardening, canning and Bible study.
Mary had lived in Home Camp and Bloomington, but lived most of her life in Penfield.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place, next to her husband, in the Morningside Cemetery of DuBois.
Memorials are suggested to the Penn Highlands Healthcare at Home or a favorite charity.

My condolences to all of you. Mary was a wonderful neighbor. When I first moved in beside her she welcomed me into the neighborhood and we became good friends. Whenever I was walking my dog Orion she would ask us to come up and visit if she was sitting on her porch. Rest in peace Mary, you are finally home with your beloved husband.
