Ronald Schroedl Obituary

Lake Mills, WI - Ronald "Ron" M. Schroedl, 78, of Lake Mills, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Ron was born on August 23, 1946, in Madison to the late Francis and Della (Sukowatey) Schroedl. A lifelong resident of Lake Mills and proud 1964 graduate of Lake Mills High School, he went on to serve six years in the National Guard, receiving an honorable discharge in 1971.

He was a crew foreman for Wollin Silos and later spent many years behind the wheel as a semi-truck driver for Creekwood Farms (The "Red Rooster"), Sheehy, and Fiberdome. No matter the job, Ron approached his work with integrity, precision, and pride-qualities that defined him throughout his life.

On July 30, 2011, Ron married Susan Kay Vosekuil, the love of his life. Together they built a well-kept home and a meaningful life, grounded in faith, laughter, and a shared love for family.

Ron was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and lived out his deep Christian faith through quiet strength and everyday kindness. He was known for his strong opinions, firm handshakes, and selfless concern for others-even while facing his own health battles, he continued to check in on those he cared about.

A true Ford man and racing enthusiast, Ron enjoyed NASCAR, stock car racing, Badger and Packer football, and Brewers baseball. He found joy in snowmobiling, hunting, bowling, card games, helping farmers, meticulous yard work, woodworking, and supporting his grandchildren in everything they did. His prized possession was his 1977 Ford F250 with the white topper, which brought him as much pride as the stories he loved to share with anyone who'd listen.

Ron leaves behind his beloved wife, Susie; children Timothy (Jerzy) Vant Hoff and Tara (Daniel) Topel; stepchildren Allen Yuenger, Paul Yuenger, and Stacy (Keith) Reinhard; grandchildren Mallory and Christian Topel; step-grandchildren Dylan (Kendall), Austin, Kyle, and Aaron Reinhard; step-great-grandchildren Ari Bredenson and Wyatt Reinhard; brother Dennis (Darlene) Schroedl; sisters Rose Wilkes and Eileen (Richard) Deinlein; sister-in-laws Roxanne Schroedl; Kathy "Katrina" (Randy) Skarda, Ellen (Jeff) Frank; Brothers-in-law Harry (Sandy) Vosekuil; Ronnie Vosekuil; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Paul Schroedl, and brother-in-laws Gerald Wilkes, Kenneth Vitense, Donald and Kenneth Vosekuil

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Ron's name to UW Urology Cancer Research or St. Paul Church & School.

Ron will be remembered as a hardworking, faith-filled man who valued family, friendship, and a good story. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared.
