Barry Winrich Obituary

Barry L. Winrich

October 17, 1939 - July 7, 2025

Barry L. Winrich, age 85, of Reedsville, formerly of Kingsland, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc.

Barry was born on October 17, 1939 in Eau Claire, son of the late Frederick & Lorraine (Willman) Winrich. He was a graduate of Eau Claire High School, class of 1957. He enlisted and served our country in the United States Navy after his graduation. Barry worked at Joerns Healthcare in the IT Department in Stevens Point, Wisconsin until his retirement. On March 23, 1987, he married Barbara Martin in Reno, Nevada. The couple spent 45 years together, living in Amherst Junction, Wisconsin and later on in Kingsland, Georgia. They often volunteered to help the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources testing Rinehart Lake, planted native wild and prairie flowers, tended to their gardens, volunteered in the Okefenokee Swamp Park as Campsite Leaders in Georgia, and truly cared about the natural environment. Barry and Barbara also enjoyed camping, biking, their cats throughout the years, and spending time with family.

Barry is survived by his children: Anne (David) Ford of Holly Lake Ranch, TX, Mike of Reedsville, WI, Peg Stueber of Waukesha, WI, and Karl of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren: Jennifer (Dan) Hoeflinger, Rose, Matthew, Katherine (fiancé Trevor Warren), Lauren, Carolyn, Mitchell, Ben (Sarah) Stueber, and Josh (fiancée Ayla Heller) Stueber; two great-grandchildren: Sophia and Bellamy Stueber; step-daughter: Dawn (Rich) Berghefer of West Salem, WI; step-grandchildren: Matthew (Alexa) Berghefer, Michael (Mattie) Berghefer and Griffen Darnutzer; step-great-grandchildren: John and Sloan Berghefer; brother and two sisters-in-law: Lon (Sandy) and Rosanne; one step daughter-in-law Kelly Darnutzer; and Barry & Barb's his two cats: TinyGuy and Oreo; other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; brother: Larry Winrich; mother of his children: Carol Winrich; daughter-in-law: Karen Winrich; step-son: Denton Darnuzer; sister-in-law: Berdine Shuck, and other relatives.

Michael and his family would like to thank Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for all the care and support during this time.
