Bessie L. Crotteau, age 90, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away on Saturday August 17 at Marshfield Health Services in Marshfield, WI.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 21 at Ford Cemetery in Menomonie, WI at 11 a.m.
Bessie was born on Jan. 12, 1934 in the town of Menomonie to the late Theodore and Bertha White. She married Fredrick Schunke on Nov. 28, 1953. He preceded her in death. They had two children together. After Fred's death, she married Ernest Crotteau on Dec. 21, 1985.
Bess enjoyed watching the Packers, going to Arizona with Ernie in the winter, and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bess was godmother to Keith Gormanson.
Bess is survived by her brother, Herb White; her two children, Lucille (Jay) Turner, and Carl Schunke. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Savannah (Jake) Phillips, Dustin Turner, Jesse Turner, Fredrick (Daveena) Schunke, Kendrick (Nicole) Schunke, Karl/Duke Schunke, and Christina Schunke; step-grandchildren, Kayla Krone, Kortney Brunton, Kimberly Brunton, and Katey Brunton; many great-grandchildren; and exchange students, Evelyn Chan and Sae Rae Kim.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands, Fred Schunke and Ernie Crotteau; her son-in-law, Jay Turner; and many brothers and sisters.
