Hazel G. Uplinger

Hazel G. Uplinger, 88, of Kittanning, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 21, 1926, to Harry and Ethel (Ramer) Ramer, in Cowanshannock Township. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. Hazel is survived by her daughter, Lois (Leroy) Yount, of Kittanning; granddaughter, Annette (James) Shreckengost, of Adrian; great-grandson, Brady Shreckengost, of Adrian; two cousins, Mary Lou Cogley, of Kittanning, and Janet and Richard Wilding, of Canada; and a niece, Doris (Larry) Songer, of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ford A. Uplinger, who died April 29, 2001; and two sisters, Mary Miller and Betty Walker. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at CARSON/BOYER FUNERAL HOME INC., 724 Main St., Rural Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Peters officiating.
