Adel McCrann Obituary

Adel McCrann October 18, 1934- February 21, 2006 CORPUS CHRISTI, TX— Adel McCrann, 71, passed away suddenly on February 21, 2006. Born on October 18, 1934 she was the daughter of Manuel and Olivia Ybanez. She married the love of her life, Charles C. McCrann, and together they had two children, Linda and Charles. Adel was currently employed as the administrative assistant for the AFLAC Insurance Company where she was lovingly known as ÒMomÓ. MomÕs greatest pastimes were talking and shopping. An angel here on earth, she always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she met. We will miss her kindness and grace; the memory of her smile will stay with us forever. Adel is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Olivia Ybanez, as well as her husband, Charles C. McCrann. She is survived by her children, Linda (Michael) Gilkerson of San Diego, California and Charles (Benita) McCrann of Corpus Christi, Texas, her sister, Janie Lopez, her brother, Rudolfo Ybanez, and her grandchildren: Joy, Luke, Tiffani, Sarah, and her little buddy, Chas. Other survivors include her AFLAC family who will also miss her constant, loving presence. We find some comfort knowing that she has joined the other angels in heaven. A rosary and viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening February 24, 2006 and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning February 25, 2006 at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.

Ms Adele will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Charles, thank you for sharing your Mama with us. She truly touched my heart with love. She was one of those calls that you could count on 1 hand. When you get her call, you enjoy the moment and hold on to every moment because it will be so far and few between. She gave so much love and sunshine where ever she was, whether on the phone or in person. It was such a blessing to meet her in person. My fondest Mahalo nui loa and Aloha Ms Adele.

We will all miss " mom " in Inventory Services. We finally got to meet Adel and Charles not to long ago. She is a very sweet person and we really enjoyed the conversations we had on the phone. The fax she sent on Valentines Day just showed us she was thinking of us. I still have the fax and will cherrish it.

Mrs Adell's was the kind of person that all of us aim to be. Her spirit and kindness was beyond measure. My interaction with Ms Adell was thru our Call Center; she was a gentle, sweet person; whom just by talking to us; made each person want to do whatever we could to help her. She will be truely missed. For her family, we thank you for sharing her with us. We loved her and will miss her.

I have known Mrs. Adel since 2000 when I first started working at AFLAC. Mrs. Adel and I became very close. Every time she called she always put a smile on your face. She had a genuine love for people and was concerned about the person on the phone not just about business. She touched me with her loving and kind words. After meeting her last month in person no longer just a voice on the phone shows that she was as lovable as she sounded. I will miss her dearly.

I work as a customer service specialist at AFLAC. Miss Adele was part of our AFLAC "family". I have spoken with Adele several times over the years at AFLAC. She was always cheerful, and she brightened my day with every conversation. Sometimes, she would ask other specialists to send me an email message just to say hello. I had the good fortune of having my picture taken with her when she visited us at work, shortly before she passed away. I am so thankful to her son, AFLAC associate Charles McCrann, who took two pictures with me standing by Adele. I have those pictures in my desk at work as a cherished memory of a wonderful lady. I will miss hearing Adele's encouraging voice. However, as the Bible scripture states, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord". I offer my prayers to the McCrann family in their time of sorrow. May God comfort each family member. Lovingly submitted, Jim White

Will Rogers once said "I never met a man I didn't like"

I think there is no one who ever met Miss Adele that didn't love her.

Her kindness and gentleness and caring will be missed.

Seldom does a person leave such a mark on the world that everyone at a large company knows who she is. Adel was known by her first name, and as "Charles' Mom" at Aflac. Her family can be proud of her.

It was always a pleasure to get a call from Alel. My first call wtih her was the day of Hurricane Rita and she was in the office alone, waiting for Charles to come back and pick her up. I urged her to leave, and she said no, Charles was coming to get her. She spoke so lovingly about Charles and the other agents that she watched over. She was such a sweet lady and so full of life and goodwill for all. At the Nebraska AFLAC Call Center, we all looked forward to her calls. She will truly be missed. My sympathy.

A call from Ms Adele was sure to brighten anyone's day. She was a blessing to those that she only came in contact with for a brief moment, so I know her family will miss her dearly. She is a loss to those of us on earth and a rarity among the angels in heaven.
