Columbus, GA- Mrs. Betty Jane Johnson, 78, of 1329 22nd Street, Columbus, GA passed Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie Sanders, officiating. Interment will follow in Cottonton Cemetery, Cottonton, AL. Visitation is Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 1 - 2 p.m. EST at the church according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Johnson was born July 15, 1935 in Ft. Mitchell, AL to the late Robert Thomas and the late Annie Miles Thomas. She was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was a domestic worker.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Johnson of Phenix City, AL; five daughters, Sadie McPherson, Janie Senior, Edna Wilson, Judy Johnson and Shirley Johnson all of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Milton Thomas of Harrisburg, PA and Jessie Thomas of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Annie (Percy) Hill of Phenix City, AL and Helen Breckenridge of Oakland, CA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
