Phenix City, Alabama - Charles Allen Marsh, Sr., 62, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Columbus Hospice House. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 6-8 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private.
Charles was born November 14, 1959 to the late, Rev. Herman Ray Marsh and Nellie Pearl Sasser Marsh in Columbus, Georgia. After graduating High School, he worked as a plumber, co-owned Marsh Feeds for 12 years, worked as a hog farmer, and was employed with Mead paper mill for over 22 years. After retiring, he ran a small cattle farm. Charles was a born again Christian, devoted husband and father. He was a God-fearing man, who loved the Lord with all his heart. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Charles Marsh, Jr.; father-in-law, Jim Weatherford, Sr.; mother-in-law, Darlene Weatherford; brothers-in-law, Rodney Carroll, James Fowler, Jimmy Weatherford, Jr., and Tommy Weatherford.
Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Donna Marsh; two sons, Andrew Marsh (Lani) and Aaron Marsh (Faith); grandchildren, Jase, Rylee, Jessie, Haley, Madison, Jacob, Jameson, and Charlie; siblings, Shirley Carroll, Brenda Fowler, Buddy Marsh (Charlene), Gene Marsh (Jeanette), and Mike Marsh (Mickey); sisters-in-law, Marcy Weatherford and Wendy Weatherford; many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers and food, memorial donations can be made to Samaritans Purse, St. Jude, or Tunnels to Towers.

I just heard this terrible news. I remember so many things about Charles, mostly dealing with animals and feed. But I can say this one thing.... He was always willing to help me anytime I asked and always had a smile on his face.
My heartfelt prayers are with you Donna, and the rest of the family. I guess I will have to wait til I get to heaven to talk to Charles about the goats and pigs.

I went to grammar school with Charles, at the old Girard Elementary School. He was such a sweet person. I have nothing but the fondest memories of him. Met last about 10 years ago at Dan´s Hardware. Dan Hammock was a school mate with us. Charles was still the same sweet person.
