Hubert H. Tew April 8, 1947- November 8, 2008 PHENIX CITY, AL— Hubert H. Tew, 61, of Phenix City died Saturday at the Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus. Mr. Tew was born April 8, 1947 in Dothan, AL; son of the late Charles Clarence Tew and Daisy Williams Tew and retired as a Pest Controller. Survivors include his wife, Sue Tew of Phenix City, one daughter, Tracy Clover (Vince) of Fortson, GA; two sons, Matt Tew (Tina) of Phenix City and Chris Tew (Brooke) of Columbus, GA; brother, Pete Tew (Kathy) of Stockbridge, GA; and sister, Diane Tyner (Randy) of Ft. I was so happy we finally got find each other and had alot of late chats together. aunt sue i was very sad to hear of huberts passing. one thing i will always remember is he was my uncle who inspired car collecting and diecast, i remember going to your house and seeing model cars on the shelf, i love cars till this day. i wish i had the time to ge to know him better, but you know life was hectic for the richards, lol.please feel free to say hi, my number is 503-831-0192, i live in oregon now, love joey.

Dad, I lived my life to please you and Mom. Since you have left me, I find that I must make big adjustments to my life. I find myself still looking for the collectable items that you loved so much and that I cherished when I could find them for you. You asked me a few months ago to look at Mom and to realize that she was the greatest thing to happen to you and that the one thing that would make you happiest is for me to take care of her for you. I made you that promise and I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. I miss the advice that you were always willing to give. I feel good to be able to say that I never caused you any grief, we did always get along, I was your littlte buddy that you had raised to become a man and then willingly took on the role to help take care of you. You always worried about being a burden on my personal and professional life. I would always tell you that I did not see it that way and I still don't. I still have and cherish most every toy that you spent your hard earned money on. You always worried about us not having the things that our friends had, but we had more than several of them. I had a Dad at home, a Dad who loved his family. That is the best thing that a kid could have.

Thanks for giving me such a wonderful life.

Hardluck,
Even though we don't get along that well or see eye to eye, we always had a good time raising hell on the radio, pissing people off and going to coffee breaks...I don't tell anyone but those were good times.
If it were not for the radio, I would not have met you and Susie Q. If I had not met you, I would not have married your son and had these wonderful, smart, beautiful and crazy children. I owe it to you for the family I have today.. so thank you!!
Be good to the Angels up there.. they are always right :O)
P.S. You were the luckiest man in the world to have such a wonder Susie Q by your side for 40 years.

I will miss you everyday of my life.Many times we never saw eye to eye but like so many sons and dads do we always found it in our heats to forgive each other.During the past four years I really listened to what he had to say and the advice he gave me.I am very grateful to be your son.My heart and soul will always have a place for You. I met Hubert 23 years ago when his brother Pete & I started going together. I always felt close to him and the family. I will always remember him and miss him very much.Pete will always remember his brother and all the years they spent together and alot of memories. We Loved him very much and we love you all and always know that we are there for you when you need us.He was a giving person and never met a stranger. I will always take care of pete like he asked me to even thought he knew I would.He will always be in our heart.

I only met Six Gun a few years ago but it seemed like we had known each other much longer. We all joked and cut up on the radio almost every day we also would talk on the phone about the old times when things were different on the radio. Six Gun will be (already is) missed every morning on the Breakfast Club as he was a dear friend to us all.

I didn’t know Hubert well, but I know his daughter Tracy. By knowing you Tracy is to say I knew your dad. From what I have read here from all the people who knew and loved him, Tracy you truly are a testament to your fathers’ love and kindness, and he lives on in you. Your dad will always be with you Tracy; his spirit and good will a part of you no matter where you go.
I can’t comprehend how sad you must feel or the pain that tears at your heart. I do hope that your pain will decrease soon and your spirit will once again feel the strength of the light. I pray that your faith will guide you and see you through this time, rely on it, it is there for you and it is strong. I wanted to let you know that I am here for you at any time you need me - just to listen, or to talk, or a shoulder to lean on. I already told you this, but I wanted to say it again.
