Julia Leathers Obituary

Julia I. Leathers April 25, 1927 - May 12, 2004 MIDLAND, GA - Julia I. Leathers, 77, of Midland, died Wednesday, May 12, at the St. Francis Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today in Parkhill Cemetery with the Reverend Alan Griffith officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Mrs. Leathers was born April 25, 1927 in Lakeland, Fla., daughter of the late L.B. Capan and Ethel Whittle Capan and was also preceded in death by her brother, L.B. Capan Jr. Mrs. Leathers was retired from Kirven's Department Store after 20 years of dedicated service. Survivors include her husband, Howard B. Leathers of Midland; a son, Wayne (Ester) Lawrence of Seale, Ala.; a daughter, Dorothy Fox of Phenix City, Ala.; three sisters, Eloise Pope of Phenix City, Marion Joyner of Pascagoula, Miss., Sheral Marshall of Opelika, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Lawrence of Harris County, Ga., Jennifer and Wayne Mack of Harris County, Ashton Lawrence of Seale, Ronnie and Karina Mitchell of Newnan, Ga., Tim and Beth Mitchell of Phenix City, Jawan and Bryan Taylor of Phenix City, Brandi Fox of Phenix City; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
