Phenix City, AL- Mrs. Nellie Bell Sumbry, 95, of 33 Lee Road 2021, Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, December 21, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Dr. Raymond Cochran, pastor, eulogist and Dr. Marcus Lovelace, officiating. Interment will follow in Community Cemetery, Phenix City, AL according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Sumbry was born May 7, 1919 in Russell County, AL to the late John Williams, II and the late Willow Jakes. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was formerly employed as a presser for Civil Service, Ft. Benning, GA.
Survivors include two sons, Alvin Sumbry and Josiah Sumbry both of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Willa Mae Bellamy of Detroit, MI and Johnnie Mae Brooks of Columbus, GA; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
