Shirley, I am so sorry my mom and I were unable to attend any of the services. I have fond memories growing up across the street from your family on Hunt Avenue. I'm sure my mom and dad knew your mom's first name, but I only knew her as "Mrs. Gunn" and your dad as "Mr. Gunn". Of course I later referred to him by his rank. I remember your mom as being a highly intelligent woman who loved to read. She was a "Southern Lady". I know you will miss both of them. Sorry for your loss.

She demonstrated a Christ-like compassion for people through her cards and letters of encouragement. She would always ask about my wife, children and the church family.

We've known Aunt June all our lives and never was she anything but gentle, sweet, and kind to us. She always had a smile on her face, and we enjoyed talking to her during our visits because she was interested in so many different things. She was the last of our aunts and uncles in the Gunn family, and she will be greatly missed.

Shirley, our thoughts and prayers are with you and we love you very much. Deborah and Dave Murphy
