Terri L Butler Brooks was my classmate and one of my very best friends. Terri, Gary and I began our professional journeys at Tuskegee in the fall of 1980. Terri and I and the rest of the pre-vet students had all of our classes together, and she and I became close friends almost immediately. We saw each other through good times and bad, and graduated together as Veterinarians from Tuskegee in 1988. I will miss her dearly. On behalf of the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1988 we extend our most sincere condolences.

Attending Rule High in the late 70s and 80s was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Rule was a very special place. Special because of its community, its faculty and its students. As one of my former classmates, Mr. Jimmy Bishop, said We were a Family. Within that great communal family, pockets of students formed their own smaller families. Terri and I were part of one of those families. I'm sure I speak for everyone who was part of our "little" family (Rose, Linda, Beverly, Ralph, among others) when I say, Terri was a very special girl. I was in awe of her. Many years passed and Terri and I lost contact. Recently, we were reaquainted through the aid of her grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Lyons and her aunt, Julia. Both I consider part of my extended family. Terri and I spoke and wrote letters to each other often. I will never forget her and she will always have a special place in my heart. Her grandmother told my mother a few days ago, Terri thought of my as one of her friends. How fortunate was I to be held in such high regard by dear Terri. Today, she and her family are in my thoughts and prayers. I will never forgot her.
