Terry Wilkey Obituary
April 3, 1956 - November 10, 2022
Box Springs, Georgia - Dr. Terry L. Wilkey, 66, of Box Springs, Georgia died on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Terry was born in Smyrna, Georgia to the late Joyce Welch Wilkey and Talmadge Wilkey. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate and went onto the Medical College of Georgia in August. Terry obtained his Doctorate in Dentistry in 1983. While attending Medical College of Georgia he met the love of his life, Melissa Johnson. They married in the fall of 1983, living in Chatsworth, Georgia before calling the Columbus area home to raise their family. Being a Dentist was important to Terry, but his patients were the highlight of his practice. Terry opened his practice: Dr. Terry Wilkey, DMD General Dentistry in Columbus, Georgia. He loved his patients and they loved him.
Terry loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed spending time on his property hunting, managing the land and spending time with family and his canine companions. If he wasn't on his John Deere you could find Terry enjoying a good UGA football game, grilling and spending time with family and friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Joyce and Talmadge Wilkey his beloved wife Melissa Wilkey and his son, Benjamin Wilkey.
He leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his children: Whitney (Jamie) Parker, Andrew Wilkey, Audrey "Rosie" (Hunter) Kinsman, Nathaniel "Nate" Wilkey, and Aaron Wilkey; his very adored grandchildren: Hailey Kinsman, Lily Parker, Elijah Parker, Jackson Kinsman, and Benjamin Kinsman; his siblings: Tony (Diane) Wilkey, Jane Wilkey (Jim) Buckle, and Julie Peavy; and numerous other family members and great friends.

There is just so many nice things about you Terry, that I am grateful for. You took care of my Dog, Sweetie, when she went missing, She enjoyed your company over me I guess. The neighborhood was alive and well with you around, as you were around for Roberts parties and his laughter, which you told me you missed. You removed a number of my teeth, which was actually quite enjoyable as you took no prisoners and got the job done real quick. Always a pleasure with you at the helm.
We didn't really see much of each other after you retired and I was just So saddened that ALS took you so quickly. You see how much of a impact you made on so many people lives.Will see you again, sure of it.

Very sad to hear of the passing of our former dear dentist Dr. Terry Wilkey. He was a great dentist to my family for several years and was sad to hear when he had to retire. We are now even more saddened to hear of his passing. Sending sincere condolences to the family.

I am going to miss Mr. Terry Wilkey he always took care of me when I had appointments. His smile lit up the room, and he always had something interesting to tell me. This is a surprise to me, and I am deeply sad by this. I send my condolences to the Wilkey family from the Moore family.
