Elizabeth Shaw Obituary

BRADFORD, New Hampshire -- Elizabeth M. Shaw, born 18 November 1932 in Greenpoint, New York, succumbed to cancer at home surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves behind her husband of 66 years William P. Shaw, and children James Shaw and wife, Deborah, Mary Clough with whom she resided, William Shaw and partner, Jill, Elizabeth Shaw and husband, Robert, Clifford Shaw and wife, Catherine, Patricia Shaw and husband, Mark, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph.

She was admired for the way she continued to travel and live her life despite her illness. It is believed she survived for so long due to the birth of several great-grandchildren. Her amazing sense of humor was maintained until her final hours.

She was a woman incapable of walking by any infant or child without exchanging smiles or giggles and she most loved spending time with her family.

She was a loyal and loving friend having many friendships lasting over 70 years.

She retired as Administrative Assistant from the town of Antrim.

She and her husband had been active for many years in Marriage Encounter and in the Young Adults Program.

Visiting Hours were held at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough on Sunday April 8, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday April 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church Street, Peterborough. Burial will take place on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

Her family would like to express their appreciation to the DHMC Oncology Dept, Family Tree Health Care, the physicians and staff at Concord Hospital and the Concord VNA Hospice program.
