Vincent J. Gallucci
Kennebunk, ME - Vincent J. Gallucci, of Kennebunk, died Monday, June 16, 2025 at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, ME surrounded by loved ones.
Vincent was born in Methuen, MA on November 25, 1934, the son of Dominic and Laura (Bottis) Gallucci. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and then attended Boston College where he completed his Bachelor's Degree. He furthered his education at Boston College and earned his Master's Degree in Education. He also received advanced degrees from Columbia University Teachers College in School Administration and Psychology.
Vincent began his teaching career in Wilmington, MA for eight years where he served as teacher and guidance counselor. He was Guidance Director in the Norwell Public Schools for four years before moving to New Hampshire. He was Principal of Conant High School and Assistant Superintendent of Schools for School Union 47 in Peterborough. Vincent was superintendent of Schools for seven years in Pittsfield, ME, SAD #53. His final school assignment was in Waterboro as Superintendent of Schools, SAD #57 for 13 years.
His years in education are highlighted by the many students who remembered him fondly and honored him in year books and at class reunions.
Following his retirement, he established a counseling practice in Portland under the name of Turning Point Counseling. After closing his counseling business, Vincent offered his time to counsel those in need free of charge. He also worked for Creative Work Systems as a life skills coach improving the lives of the many people he cared for.
Vincent was a humble man and a devout Catholic. He was very active at St. Martha's Church in Kennebunk. The strength he received serving God and his community made him a well respected and well loved man. People who knew him couldn't deny that he was one of the most religious individuals they have ever met. He served as a eucharistic minister traveling to homebound church members, often staying with them to talk and keep them company. He also served as Grand Knight for Knights of Columbus Council 12033 in Kennebunk. While under his leadership, the KOC raised money for many church charities including a scholarship program, food pantry, and community breakfasts.
Vincent was predeceased by his loving wife Mary (Quinn) of Lowell, MA in 2004.
He is survived by his two daughters, Laura Knight and her husband Tony Knight of Minot, ME and Paula Gallucci of Kennebunk, ME; and by his grandchildren, Bryan Files, Serenity Knight & Roland Knight, all of whom made him proud with their educational achievements.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Holy Spirit Parish – St. Martha's Catholic Church, 30 Portland Road, Kennebunk, ME. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
