FERRARI, Adam
The passing of Adam Ferrari, age 90, of Saskatoon occurred Thursday, August 29, 2013 peacefully at St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Saskatoon. Adam was born in Italy on December 18, 1922 and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1927. They settled in Livelong, SK, where he farmed until 1973. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jane; brother, Dante of Saskatoon; sisters, Inez Nordstrom, Kathy (Leo) Opsal, both of Saskatoon, and Joan (Don) Nesdoly of Nanaimo, BC; step daughter, Carol Lasiuk and step granddaughter, Emma of New York; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and brother-in-law, Bill Esaw. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrea and Maria Ferrari; his first wife, Letta (Gaylord) Ferrari; sister, Josephine Esaw; brother-in- law, Clarence Nordstrom; sister in law, Pauline Ferrari; and step son, Ken Lasiuk. His faith was very important to Adam and attending Sunday Mass was a priority, nor did he fail to recite his rosary daily. Adam retired from farming in 1973. He spent 30 winters in Yuma, AZ and enjoyed traveling the world visiting most countries in Europe, North Africa, North and Central America and China. He had a green thumb and grew great vegetables and flowers wherever he was. He particularly enjoyed roses. He enjoyed sharing his vegetable crop with family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road, at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 with Rev. Fr. Colin Roy as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at North Battleford City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
