PLAISTOW, N.H. — Albert J. Paquette, 78, of Plaistow, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, he was one of 12 children of the late Joseph and Rose Anna (LaBelle) Paquette.
He attended St. Joseph Grammar School and Saint James High School and served for five years in the Army National Guard.
A resident of the Haverhill/Bradford area for most of his life, Mr. Paquette moved to Plaistow in 1989.
He worked in the local shoe industry, and for Arthur Sharp Hardware in Bradford. He was also employed by Lagasse Amusement Co. for many years and retired from the former Brentwood Lounge Furniture Co.
A member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Joseph Parish of Haverhill, Mr. Paquette was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker and also enjoyed playing the accordion, computer games, puzzles and crossword puzzles. In his younger years, he enjoyed swimming and raising several animals on his property.
Married to his high-school sweetheart, Charlotte E. (Tellier) Paquette for over 61 years, he is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David A. and Noreen Paquette of Simi Valley, Calif., and Daniel H. and Revelle Paquette of Plaistow; daughters, and sons-in-law, Judith A. and Frank Taillon of Clearwater, Fla., Gloria M. Bergeron of Hampstead, N.H., and Felicia R. and Dana Dube of Indian Land, S.C.; a brother, Lawrence Paquette of Conway; grandchildren, Stephen Taillon, Scott Taillon, Shari-Ann Bishop, Pat O'Herron, Russell Bergeron, Rachel Ellorriaga, Melissa Wentworth, Logan Paquette, Erin Drislane, Olivia Dube and Owen Dube; also 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at noon from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. in All Saints Church, Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. The family requests that donations be made to the S.P.C.A.
