Albert Posner Albert Posner, 83, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Beatrice. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. EST Monday at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (877-8191) is handling arrangements. Mr. Posner was born in 1920 in Baltimore, Md., and married his sweetheart, Beatrice Cohen, in 1941. He graduated from Baltimore City College in 1938 and Maryland Art Institute. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 64th Topographic Battalion, Cartography Division, serving under Admiral Nimitz. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the World War II Historical Society, an expert model shipbuilder and a volunteer who taught classes at the Tallahassee Senior Center for five years. He was commissioned by Walter Cronkite to build a model ship in honor of Cronkite's retirement in 1979, and some of his ship models are on display at the Naval Academy Museum in Annapolis, Md., the World Trade Center in Baltimore and the Pentagon. Other survivors include a son, Calvin Posner; two granddaughters, Stefanie Anders and Melissa Marsh; and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Posner Duhmel.

Dearest Bea:



I'm so sorry to have learned of Al's death! Since we are not in Tallahassee anymore, I always read the "paper" via Internet.



I hope you are doing ok and God will get you through this grieving time. Let your friends and family help, too!



You two were always VERY special to us and we enjoyed our times together!
