Albert Scheer Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Sep. 29 to Sep. 30, 2007.
SCHEER Albert. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Albert Scheer. Born March 9, 1925 in Den Hague, Holland. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Paulina, his sons Steve (Karen), Rick (Bev), Ralph, his daughters Lucy (Doug), Joanne (Jud), and his grandchildren Wesley, Matt, Paige, Katie, Taylor, Colton and Tyler. After serving overseas, Albert and Paulina moved to Canada in 1957 to provide more opportunity for their growing family. Albert and Paulina owned and operated Langley's first Dutch Deli., originally located on Salt Lane. Albert was also active in minor hockey as a coach and worked at the Langley Professional Building where his carpentry skills were appreciated for 20 years. He was a role model for his children, grandchildren (who knew him as Opa) and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His favorite quote: ÃNobody said it was easyÄ. A celebration of Albert's life will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home on Friday October 5th at 1:00 pm. The family would like to thank the staff of Langley Memorial Hospital, Dr. Sank, Dr. Tielens (family physicians and friend).
