KRAJICEK, Alexander
Passed away on November 28, 2013 at 90 years of age at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, following a lengthy illness due to cardiac complications. His last weeks and hours were spent in the company of his large caring family. He was a loving soul mate to his wife and an exemplary father to his children and their families. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Emily Ovsenny, and their children Emily (Andrew Scipio del Campo), Deborah (Al Bryson), Mark, and Irene (Christian Allard). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Andrew, Karl, Erik, Eric, Kimberly, Ryan and Mathieu, and eight great grandchildren.
Alex lived life to the fullest. He was born on February 16, 1923 in Velke Rovne (Zilina), then Czechoslovakia, and with his parents (Paulina and John) and sister (Pauline) immigrated to Montreal during the Great Depression. He fondly remembered his student days at Loyola College. He and his wife settled in Montreal, where Alex, with his entrepreneurial bent, established a successful business manufacturing wire products. After raising their family in the Town of Mount Royal, Alex and Emily retired to her hometown of Toronto in 1984. They continued to enjoy their winters at their Florida home.
Alex instilled in his family the values of a loving family life and was a great role model.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A memorial and celebration of life service is Saturday, December 14, 2013, starting at 10:30 a.m. and service from 11 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre chapel 375 Mt.
